Chili sin Carne: Cruelty-free loaded with good stuff!
I don’t know about you, but the prospect of giving up Chili when I became vegan was less than thrilling for me. So hearty and filling, it is sure to be found at potlucks and other gatherings, just begging to be sampled.
The original chili con carne is made of a few simple ingredients such as onions, garlic, meat, and chili peppers all stewed together.
It is suspected to have its roots in Mexico, but was greatly popularized in Texas as the cattle drivers and settlers roamed across the land and shared it. Fortunately, much of the appeal of chili is the challenge to modify the recipe to your own preference and create the best “bowl o’ red” anyone has ever tasted.
When our friends asked us to prepare a vegan dish for their birthday party, we were excited for the opportunity to create our own version without meat. Today we present to you the result: cruelty-free, naturally-spiced Chili sin Carne.
I quick scan of the ingredients here will confirm what you may have suspected: Chili con Veggie is unfortunately NOT IBS friendly.
However, if you’re looking for a vegan dish and beans, hot peppers, and spices don’t bother you, then our Chilli con Veggie is sure to delight you!
It is loaded with real vegetables and bursting with flavor from the abundance of spices. We also use soya mince to mimic the texture and substance of ground meat. When cooked with vegetable broth, tomatoes, and spices, the taste is delicious.
Easy to prepare in one pot, I dare you to enter this Chilli sin Carne into your next local contest. Crafted in the heart of cattle country, it is now cruelty-free and loaded with good stuff! It is best served with our five-ingredient Homemade Flour Tortillas 😉
